Commercial Description:
The standard by which all other wheat beers are judged. Our deliciously deranged American-Style Hefeweizen is an award winning take on this Bavarian classic. This refreshingly unfiltered wheat ale delivers a distinctively smooth flavor worth sharing with friends.

Enjoy by 050306, so much for that. Pours a hazy golden with a small off-white head. Aroma is of grain and wheat, with a touch of citrus. Taste has some cardboard, but I can’t blame them since it is past its prime--so I won’t dock points for that. There is some crisp wheat in the taste as well, very light citrus. Watery with high carbonation. The folks at the brewery need to change the name to Pyramid Wheat, as Hefeweizen implies it’s a German wheat. That it is not--if it was, it would suck. As an American wheat, it is a little less suck. Boulevard and Oberon offhand kick this in the junk.

Not very pleased overall but it wasn’t really bad. The aroma wasn’t really catching onto me but the flavor was alright. There were immense amounts of wheat and it left a harsh after-mouth-feel.

12oz. Bottle. The aroma is a strong wheat smell and I was very excited about the taste. But I was disappointed in the small amount of flavor in this beer. It seemed they slightly missed the target.

Pours a cloudy med. prange with a fizzy white head that dissipates rapidly. Aroma is oxidized, and I mean heavily. There is some clove character with a touch of that grainy wheat aroma. The body is thick for the style and low in CO2. The flavors are dominated by cardboard and a nasty slickness that I can only assume is age. Really poor beer.

Bottle (12oz). Hazy orange, average fizzy white head, lot’s of white chunkies at the bottom of the bottle. Slightly tart aroma of fruit, yeast, orange juice, herbal hops and grass, a bit of metal. Taste is a bit harsh - over-amped carbonation, sharp yet stale hops, slightly sour grain, sugary fruit in the background - not well balanced, harsh watery mouthfeel, bit of a harsh linger to the taste - nehh; not horrid, not particularly good either.

Bottle. Poured a hazy orange with a thin white head. The flavor found wheat and lemon. The flavor was typical hefe. However overall the aroma and flavor were very subdued. Light body and watery. Needs a kick.

Bottle. Cloudy amber with a white head. Eh, a typical wheat beer, with a slightly watery flavor.

Draft at Key Arena (Storm game). Pours cloudy dark straw with a bit of dirty white head. Wheaty nose, and watery body also carrying mild wheat flavor. Feels lifeless. Might be more interesting after a lifetime spent drinking macros, but compared to more inspired beers it’s just too timid.
