Commercial Description:
The standard by which all other wheat beers are judged. Our deliciously deranged American-Style Hefeweizen is an award winning take on this Bavarian classic. This refreshingly unfiltered wheat ale delivers a distinctively smooth flavor worth sharing with friends.

Drank it in Sacramento. Tap. Pours yellow cloudy with a thin white head. Light bodied, smooth, subtle sweetness, refreshing.

Odd colour for a Hefe, being almost orange along with some slight haze. The head was a generous white, four-fingered creation and well-laced to boot. Aroma was ’clean’ but hinted at virtually nothing as to what lay in the glass. Taste was an ’average’ Hefe, neither outstanding nor wretched. Mouthfeel was smooth and solid, with a slight sweetness to the aftertaste. Good value for the money, but far from the best Hefe out there.

Pours a cloudy golden color with moderate white head. Big banana aroma. Flavor was a downer--just a standard weak wheat ale. Mouthfeel is thin and watery. Clean finish. WIth the strong aroma, I had good hopes for this beer, but it ended up being a poor example of a hef.

Overall Impression: A decent wheat ale, standard flavors for this style, nothing too exciting, but it is pretty drinkable.

Bottle. Poured cloudy orange with thick white head. Somewhat sour aroma, with a bit of clove. Rather bland flavour. Little bit of wheatiness, little bit of spice, nothing in sufficiency. Bland unmemorable finish. Commonplace beer.

Pours a clear orange-amber with a thick off white creamy foam. Simple banana/clove yeast aroma. Taste is a more forward banana note, a finishing citrus note, and a balancing spice throughout. Decent enough.

Bottle pours hazy yellow with a fluffy white head. The aroma is on with banana and yeast. Unfortunately I do not have much else to say that is good. Thin body with metallic taste with a light wheat backing. Not much going on.

Draft at Mactarnahan’s taproom. Blah blah boring. Too light, no flavor, watery.
