mephisto (1144), Taiwan Aug 28, 2005 bottled. hazy orange, yeasty nose w/ hint of fruity. yeasty hefey, a typical american hefe. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA Aug 22, 2005 FIrst off, I’m not a big fan of wheat beers or hefe’s, but I did like this beer. Murky golden color, white head, very little aroma. Taste is sweet and tangy, but finishes sticky sweet. I probably would order this again if there was nothing better on tap. GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Aug 5, 2005 Draught. Hazy yellow color with thin head that laced the glass. Yeasty nose and flavor with a hint of bananas and citrus. Slight sweetness. Very refreshing with a smooth finish. MattShizzle (385), Bernville, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 2, 2005 So so ish. Very little, if any, weizen flavor. Pretty bland for a micro, really. Would not buy again. FoolishMortal (965), San Diego, California, USA Jul 29, 2005 Hazy orange amber, film of white head. Muted, watery clove aroma. Tangy weizen yeast flavors, some muted wheat characteristics. Unappealingly fades in the finish. Mouthfeel is Medium with a slight stickiness. mrnutsnbolts (204), Berkeley, California, USA Jul 29, 2005 Bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a medium white head. Leaves very little lacing on the sides of the glass. Citrusy nose with a hint of yeasty bread. Smooth going down, sweet finish. Nice beer for a hot night like tonight. honeyinmydust (2), Lynnwood, Washington, USA does not count Jul 26, 2005 Love the citrus taste, its also good on the belly. Sweet after taste with a smooth feel. DerWeg (748), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 11, 2005 Had on tap in Los Angeles in some chain restaurant. Not bad orangey-blonde colour, not much on the nose but yeast, failry loose and sweet flavor structure, lacks citric solidity to prop up the flatness. A little too sticky-smooth and watery-sweet, lacking fruity or spicy hints or anything else of note - in short, I missed some character and flavor here. I didn’t know what to think of this one - it was just an okay refreshing beer that I didn’t crave a second round of. Maybe the sample was old and dis-integrating? There were no oxidation indicators, but wheat beer is a tricky thing whether German styled or otherwise. Better than some American wheats but bland.
