motelpogo (4394), Plzen, Czech Republic Dec 5, 2004 on tap at pyramid alehouse. hazy golden. not a lot of yeast character but at least fresh and wheaty if quite dull tplindler (37), California, USA Dec 3, 2004 Slightly cloudy wheat beer. Good from bottle or tap, but needs that lemon slice to help it along. Doesn’t stand on its own like a Franziskaner. npdempse (931), St. Petersburg, Florida, USA Nov 26, 2004 Cloudy dark amber color.
Funny nose of tangerine, nobel hops, and sulfur. Slightly sweet, thinnish flavor, a touch of honey. Somewhat overhopped. Kevin (1917), Colorado, USA Nov 26, 2004 bottle. pours a rather clear yellow with a large white head. dusty wheat aroma that is a bit sweet. bitter wheat taste that does not have any of the expected banana or clover taste i have grown to love in a hefe. Karaya1 (1), USA does not count Nov 14, 2004 Being addicted to German Weizen after living there this summer i had been deprived because none of the ones i so loved are licensed in Wyoming.
I found this one in town and it reminded me of Franziskaner pretty vividly. It’s not quite as good, but it is very close.
I know what will be in my fridge from now on!!
Thank you Pyramid! ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA Oct 31, 2004 im surprised its taken me this long to actually taste this beer. although, once i tasted it i realized why its taken me this long. nothing special. cloudy looking and has a hint of banana smell. sweet and just kind of unbalanced. this one needs work and it could be a very good beer. sampled at brewgrass 04 on draught. jigglyjock (159), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 19, 2004 Definately not the best hef i’ve had. Lack of any citris undertones and just not a tasty beer for the price. GrainBeltGuzzler (249), Goodhue, Minnesota, USA Oct 12, 2004 Prettty nice looking hefe from pyramid... Not the wheatiest hefe I have had, but still a real nice smooth drinking beer/ Lacking complexity desired by most serious raters on this site, but a nice summer sipping beer
