| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 18, 2004 I appear to be agreeing with consensus here- this is a bland, boring wheat beer. Pours cloudy yellow-orange with a thick, puffy off-white head. Tangy, bitter, zesty aroma. Flavor is rather weak and rather cardboardy with tangy and earthy notes. No banana or clove flavors suggestive of a "hefeweizen" the label claims the beer to be. Instead, this has a rather creamy, smooth mouthfeel. Falls far, far short of other American Wheats like Bell’s Oberon. Wet and lifeless. zach8270 (2127), Henrietta, New York, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Apr 12, 2007 (draft @ Centrifuge in MGM Grand Hotel and Casino - Las Vegas, NV) Cloudy orange pour with a puffy white head. Smell is very light with just wheat. Not much spice or orange in it. Flavor tastes almost exactly like a lager. Very watery and not much flavor. Definitely a wheat ale rather than a hefe. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 10, 2001 Updated: Oct 11, 2004Update: I'm getting banana in the nose for the first time with this beer. Its mild, and the flavor is very clean and very much in the American wheat vein, with a light citrus zest at the end. patrick767 (2049), fort wayne, Indiana, USA

That makes me wonder given the ratings here describing big, fluffy pours. Mine definitely wasn’t. Nevertheless, I was in the mood for a wheat beer and as advertised this beer is smooth and refreshing. Indra (2036), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 18, 2004 Some wheat malt, doughy yeast and faint citrus in the aroma. Opaque golden-orange color, with a lasting, lightly creamy head. Soft wheaty flavor, surprisingly sweet, finishing with a dash of citrus and yeast zing. Some spicy hop flavor lingers while bitterness remains muted throughout. Light-medium body, mouthfeel is a bit thin and watery. Perhaps only slightly below average for the style -- could do with a lessened amount of sweetness, I think. bitbucket (2035), Kirkland, Washington, USA

Unfortunately, the barman saw fit to park a lemon slice on the rim, which pretty much destroyed my ability to rate it as a beer. Why do they do this? Are they so ashamed of the product that they don’t want anyone to find out what the unadulterated taste is? It’s an OK wheat flavored lemonade.
