Commercial Description:
The standard by which all other wheat beers are judged. Our deliciously deranged American-Style Hefeweizen is an award winning take on this Bavarian classic. This refreshingly unfiltered wheat ale delivers a distinctively smooth flavor worth sharing with friends.

Cloudy goldish orange look. Smell is wheat but has slight roasty smell. No bright fruit aroma present. Taste is too bland.

bottle split over at Volgon’s. nice appearance, hazy golden in color with medium to high carbonation. Aroma was slight citrus/lemon and grainy. Taste was citrus/lemon notes with dry grains and a thin body. Finishes unpleasantly astrigent. Not very good.

Cloudy straw color, with a small white head that was short lived. The aroma was wheaty and yeasty with a mild spice note to it with a mild fruity side. The flavor was nothing special but still decent.Mildly fruity with a decent wheat flavor a mild yeastiness and mild spice. Not bad but could use a little work to be better.Would make a good brew for a hot day.

Cloudy appearance. Well balanced and smooth tasting. Nice, slight hoppy bite. Excellent with or without a lemon. Particularly shines as a refreshing summer draft on a hot day though a fine beer any time of the year. Probably my favorite Hefe. Rerate--just had this at the brewery for the first time and raises .1. I still feel this may be one of the most underappreciated beers on this site. For me, this is the epitome of the American wheat. Flawless apeearance--taupe on top and thinning in color down the glass. Beautiful wheat aroma and full wheat taste. Simply sublime. 5/22/09 - Rerated now as Pyramid Haywire Hefeweizen. Wheaty body, full of grassiness in aroma and flavor. Not quite as good as I remember it, yet still a stalwart summer time refreshment.

ReRate-well, it has been over 3 years since i had this beer, so i thought i would re-rate it. yeasty metalic slight banana aroma. grainy malt flavors that were fizzy and faint. watery palate that did nothing to excentuate this beer. faint banana finish with notes of lemon, but mostly grain husks. a very boring wheat (yea, this is no german hefe!)

Draft at Chili’s. Best thing on tap tonight. Fruity aroma and a hoppy flavor. Head was very thin. Not a bad beer, but not super exciting.
