Commercial Description:
The standard by which all other wheat beers are judged. Our deliciously deranged American-Style Hefeweizen is an award winning take on this Bavarian classic. This refreshingly unfiltered wheat ale delivers a distinctively smooth flavor worth sharing with friends.

Cloudy goldish orange look. Smell is wheat but has slight roasty smell. No bright fruit aroma present. Taste is too bland.

Tap at Babe’s brewpub: Fairly typical body for a hefe/wheat. A light lemony aroma and flavor made this pretty bland, even after a hot hike in 100 degree weather. If a style like this fails there.. wow.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy, muddy yellow with thin white head. The aroma is clove, zest, pepper, and various other spices. The flavor is like banana bread, with alcohol, clove, and mulling spices. The banana comes out especially in the finish. Kind of a weird aftertaste. Ok, but not great.

Bottle from Locomotive Liquor, Palm Springs. Very good Hefe, tastes like a German original. Good, sweet balanced flavour, good yeastiness and remains light and refreshing. Nice big, fluffy head, and mustard colour. Smells as creamy and sweet as it looks. I’ve been awake for about 24 hours at this point, but a few swigs of this and I’m feeling better already.

bottle. pours a rather clear yellow with a large white head. dusty wheat aroma that is a bit sweet. bitter wheat taste that does not have any of the expected banana or clover taste i have grown to love in a hefe.

Draft at NRA Show in Chicago. Used to drink a lot of this ten + years ago living in San Diego. Paler yellow pour. Lightly clouded. Citrusy lemony. Fainted banana & clove aspect but citrus dominated. Decent summer deck beer but way better options out there

Body is a golden amber with a 3/4 inch white head. Aroma is wheat, little bit of honey, and cheap malts. Taste is bland, bit of wheat, a malt liquor type smell, a bit of crystal malt, and pale malt.
