The aroma is very lackluster, sour and maybe some orange. The flavor is a step down if thats possible. There is an odd corn flavor (not a good thing in a weizen) and basically nothing else. Nothing at all. The palate (if you can call it that) was thin and a tad crisp. The finish was indescribable, so I won’t attempt it. Just know that it’s bad. Very bad. I’d avoid this at all costs.....wait...unless its free. Beerdedone (1888), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 9/20 | Jul 5, 2004 Hefe in name only, no estery goodness in the nose, no huge clovey and banana notes. This is a bland, wheaty, crackery tasting ale with no real attributes to write about. Somewhat hazy in the glass. iowaherkeye (1873), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 31, 2006 Enjoy by 050306, so much for that. Pours a hazy golden with a small off-white head. Aroma is of grain and wheat, with a touch of citrus. Taste has some cardboard, but I can’t blame them since it is past its prime--so I won’t dock points for that. There is some crisp wheat in the taste as well, very light citrus. Watery with high carbonation. The folks at the brewery need to change the name to Pyramid Wheat, as Hefeweizen implies it’s a German wheat. That it is not--if it was, it would suck. As an American wheat, it is a little less suck. Boulevard and Oberon offhand kick this in the junk. BeerLimey (1873), California, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 2, 2007 Updated: May 29, 2007Bottle. Pours hazy peach-golden with large creamy, lasting head. Aroma is mildly spicy bread yeast. Taste is smooth white bread, with a refreshing light sourness. Nice bready, wheat aftertaste seems to coat the inside of my mouth. I really like most Bavarian wheat beers; don’t usually like the American style wheat so much, but this one is pleasantly surprising. Drinkable, mild taste; mostly wheat with a nice balance between the tart and sweet. Some here describe it as bland, but the tendency towards accenting either the sweetness or the citric acid qualities is what I hate about most American wheats. Excellent choice when selection is limited. RAYBOY01 (1868), Chicago, Illinois, USA
