Commercial Description:
The standard by which all other wheat beers are judged. Our deliciously deranged American-Style Hefeweizen is an award winning take on this Bavarian classic. This refreshingly unfiltered wheat ale delivers a distinctively smooth flavor worth sharing with friends.

Not as original as I once remembered it being....I guess that’s my tastes changing and not the beer. All of the good hefe flavors are there, but just not enough slap in the face for me. I will still take it over many hefes out there.

Foamy head with a darker colour to it. Citrus and wheat in the nose with similar taste only more tart than I anticipated. Smoothe feel to it. overall, this was quite good.

Very nice thick mouthfeel. Flavor is dry with a slight bitterness. Very crisp finish.

Whoa! This one smells very bad. It smells like a soiled diaper and lemon cleaner. Dingy golden color with a medium white head. Tastes of an old grain silo, very grainy, soapy too. Coriander on the palate. If this beer is any indication, Germans do wheat better.

On tap in Hermosa. Pours light golden and hazy. Palate is light, mildly fizzy, and textured, especially on the finish. Flavor is wheaty, slightly lemony, and with a clean finish. I’m missing the depth of German hefes in this one though. In the end, this beer will have to settle for being a nice alternative to budcoorsmiller, but that’s all.

Dark yellow, darker than a normal hefeweizen, some white head that hung around. Bananas in aroma. Creamy palate, dry hoppy finish, good but I prefer the more delicate German wheat beers.

Overall Impression: A decent wheat ale, standard flavors for this style, nothing too exciting, but it is pretty drinkable.

Good hefe. Nice gold color, good white head. Smooth and good taste. I liked this a lot.
