Commercial Description:
The standard by which all other wheat beers are judged. Our deliciously deranged American-Style Hefeweizen is an award winning take on this Bavarian classic. This refreshingly unfiltered wheat ale delivers a distinctively smooth flavor worth sharing with friends.

A nice aroma and good texture but this was just too overhopped for a Weizen. I know the NW loves hops but come on, to me this is just way over hopped for the style. But still drinkable.

Bottle. Hazy light orange body, medium white head, sour lemony nose with a hint of clove. Dry wheaty body, perhaps some lemon and clove, hints of banana, moderate bitterness. Crisp and refreshing.

On Tap @ Pyramid- Pours a hazy yellow color, small white head. Aroma of bananas cloves, other spices. Flavor is sweet and malty, not a whole lot of charachter.

Bottle: Sunny yellow pour with a firm white top. Light aroma reveals wisps of banana and clove, very light. The body is wheaty smooth and really drinkable. The yeast character really is pretty non-existent throughout. Oh well, this would appeal to the masses and may be a gateway beer for some.

FIrst off, I’m not a big fan of wheat beers or hefe’s, but I did like this beer. Murky golden color, white head, very little aroma. Taste is sweet and tangy, but finishes sticky sweet. I probably would order this again if there was nothing better on tap.

Overall Impression: A decent wheat ale, standard flavors for this style, nothing too exciting, but it is pretty drinkable.

I did not have my trusty lemon wedge and Weisbier glass while I was vacationing in California so the rating for this Wheat beer would be lower than others. Maybe I’ll try it again someday.
