Commercial Description:
The standard by which all other wheat beers are judged. Our deliciously deranged American-Style Hefeweizen is an award winning take on this Bavarian classic. This refreshingly unfiltered wheat ale delivers a distinctively smooth flavor worth sharing with friends.

Don’t be a hater - Better than what i remembered. Very smooth wheat with lots of banana flavor. Somewhat sweet - kind of has a bubblegum essence to it. This beer is kind of like Pop Music and grape soda- not much substance but overall a fun drink and pretty enjoyable, not something i would drink all the time but does not mean its not worth drinking.

Draught. Mildly acidic nose, not much there. Cloudy orange-red withi a thin and patchy head. Clove and banana flavor, proper for style but unimpressive. Some bite in the palate.

8/15/07 from the bottle. Aroma is sour wheat malt forward with a solid hop citrus and spice balance. While not to style, it does have a slight clove note. Appearance is hazy gold with a gool off-white head. Flavor is sweet wheat malt forward, lightly grainy with sourness and low bittering. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with light creaminess and low carb feel. Overall, a simple, well made hef that is refreshing and easy drinking.

Had on tap in Los Angeles in some chain restaurant. Not bad orangey-blonde colour, not much on the nose but yeast, failry loose and sweet flavor structure, lacks citric solidity to prop up the flatness. A little too sticky-smooth and watery-sweet, lacking fruity or spicy hints or anything else of note - in short, I missed some character and flavor here. I didn’t know what to think of this one - it was just an okay refreshing beer that I didn’t crave a second round of. Maybe the sample was old and dis-integrating? There were no oxidation indicators, but wheat beer is a tricky thing whether German styled or otherwise. Better than some American wheats but bland.

Pours a cloudy light ambery goldish color. This beer tastes a bit on the light side, but there’s plenty of bread flavors and some slight sour/tartness. Finsihes slightly spicy, but the lingering aftertaste is that of bread. Too mellow for me, and the body is very lacking. I’d probably save this for drinking at the bar when it happens to be one of the more exciting offerings.

Dumb label - Pyramid really should improve their labels. This is a little cloudy with no head. The beer goes down fresh and fizzy with a pleasant hefe flavor, a hint of sweetness and a dash of hoppy snap. A very good American hefeweizen, but I have had it several times, and some bottles are not as good as others.
