Commercial Description:
The standard by which all other wheat beers are judged. Our deliciously deranged American-Style Hefeweizen is an award winning take on this Bavarian classic. This refreshingly unfiltered wheat ale delivers a distinctively smooth flavor worth sharing with friends.

Hefeweizen tasting at Three Cellars Milwaukee. Pretty basic Hefeweizen, drinkable by all means. Slight sweetness and a bit creamy.

Yellow and hazy with a full head. Medium body with mild bitterness. Well carbonated and frothy. Some fruity, yeasty hop flavors. Good and drinkable.

Thick and heavy with light carbonation. I was really expecting a lighter and more crisp beer and got a thick and heavy american style wheat, maybe they should have staved off adding the extra 10% wheat malt or maybe i should have trusted my knowledge of american wheats and stayed away in favor of a true hefeweizen.

I was really unimpressed by this beer’s flavor, or lack thereof. It really tastes much like a cheap American lager. Yes, like MGD or Budweiser. Very sweet and corny flavor, with no depth or character. Not that good at all. Smells good, looks good, performs poorly overall. Sorry Pyramid.

Pours very hazy orange with a frothy white head. Whet and spice aroma. Taste is wheat. Very earthy and musty.

On Tap: Bannanas, cloves, wheat, honey and lots of citrus were tastes and aromas. Color was quite nice, although I always love the look of a hefe or a wheat. Palate was smooth with an astringent bite on finish.

4 oz pour at the Oregon Brewers Festival in July ’09. Nice smooth, sweet wheat. Good balance.

Bottle served cold, warmed my own glass. Light aroma, very little citrus present, just notes of wheat. This finish is a bit bitter, not what i anticpated, and I feel slightly detrimental.
