Flavor is mildy sweet, corn and wheat, no clove or banana here, and no hop flavor either. Small diacetyl. Don’t call it a hefeweizen if you aren’t going to taste like one. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 5, 2009 Bottle. Poured a hazy orange color with a foam white head. Maybe a little lacing on the side of the glass. Aroma is grain, grass, wheat, and citrus. Flavor is all the same with some citrus. Very good for a wheat. BustedFlat (554), Edina, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 2, 2007 I had low expectations for this one reading some of the other reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. It poured cloudy yellow with very little head and little or no aroma. For me the taste was all caramel and malt. I did not expect this from a wheat beer. I am more of a malt guy than a hop guy or wheat guy, so I liked that. Not great, but pretty good for this style.

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 12, 2003 Cloudy, darker than most wheats, poors frothy but quickly diminishing head. Light yeasty aroma with citusy hints. Taste is rather sour, somewhat malty with hints of apple. Finish is sour and somewhat unpleasant. Oscbert (549), Sacramento, California, USA

~Smells wheaty with lemon
~Has a glass bottle taste. Wheaty and light lemony.
~Medium feel quick finish.
~This is decent. I like Widmer’s Hefe better. Rynoplasty (544), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 30, 2007 Pours a hazy golden brown with a medium sized head. Aroma is of wheat and yeast, and the taste is mainly malted wheat. Definitley more of a wheat ale than a hefe, lacking the spicy notes of a real hefe. Maybe a slight spice tatste in the background but not much. Still a decent wheat ale and pretty cheap for a 12 pack. But Franzikaner is about the same price and is a real hefe so I probably won’t get it again unless it is convienient. DTM (541), Winters, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 1, 2008 Poured a hazy yellow with a moderatley sized head. Typical hefeweizen with yeasty and citrus flavors. Lacks a little in flavor, but goes down smooth. Brodie (540), Blowing Rock, North Carolina, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 25, 2003 Grainy wheat aroma and flavor. no clove or banana, as is appropriate in an American wheat. Very cloudy. While it is true to style, I find it all together boring.
