Commercial Description:
The standard by which all other wheat beers are judged. Our deliciously deranged American-Style Hefeweizen is an award winning take on this Bavarian classic. This refreshingly unfiltered wheat ale delivers a distinctively smooth flavor worth sharing with friends.

The beer pours completely opaque, carroty gold and despite being nicely carbonated, produces minimal foam with pitiful lacing and retention. Intense scrutiny reveals tenuous scents of green banana and undefinable metallic spice. The “flavor”, for lack of a better word, staggers with its neutrality; tart and barely phenolic, and resembling white bread soaked in rusty water. Moderate gassiness results in frequent, softly sulphury burps. Milkshake creaminess provides welcome contrast to the watery palate. This anemic ale exhausts itself with an aftertaste of budweiser with lemon. Bland beyond belief.

This was a special sale at the local groc. store. Decent aroma, easy to drink, wouldn’t go out of my way to find again.

This is nice & drinkable, but fairly mediocre & I tend to agree with the classification that this is not really like a true hefeweizen. It is gold, cloudy, with a thin, lasting white head and weak lacing. The aroma is raspberries - sweet and fruity. The taste seems dry at first, but soon becomes more noticeably sweet. There is no bitterness. It is somewhat fruity over a wheat base, sowewhat thin and tingly palate, and a definite marshmallow aftertaste. Approachable and smooth, it is pleasing and tasty but not great.

Orange; smallish white head. Smells very citrusy; missing the expected banana. Flavor is also nondescriptly citrusy; finish is lightly hoppy and a little bit grassy. Medium-bodied. Drinks more like a very light Belgian than a hefe. Weak.

Bottle. Light aroma, some citrus. Not much flavor to speak of either. Light and refreshing, but not great, might try it again.

First tast in a flight of wheats at the Flying Saucer in Memphis. American wheat beer - lawnmower beer - well made, just too light.

Draught. Pours hazy golden with vigorous carbonation but moderate head. Fairly weak aroma, mainly of wheat. Similar flavor, although a bit stronger, and with a hint of citrus. Finishes crisply. Not exciting at all, but it’s not bad.

Golden color and citrus scent. Lemony taste.
