Commercial Description:
The standard by which all other wheat beers are judged. Our deliciously deranged American-Style Hefeweizen is an award winning take on this Bavarian classic. This refreshingly unfiltered wheat ale delivers a distinctively smooth flavor worth sharing with friends.

Bottle. Small fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Light cloudy yellow golden color. Aroma of mild yeast, wheat, fruit, citrus. Light bodied with a soft carbonation. Light sweet flavor with a hint of acidic. Light sweet fruity and citrus like finish.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange golden body with a white head. Wheat character of citrus, lemon grass, and a note of spice. Banana and caramel malt. A hint of paper.

This bottled brew poured a small head of fine to medium sized mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a fair lacing. The body wassoftly carbonated semi-hazy and light brown in color. The aroma was mild and off the mark for a good hefe-weizen more doughy and missing the fruity notes like banana. The mouth feel was tingly and smooth with a dry finish. The flavor was doughy and malty with a touch of yeastyness.

From the bottle, this had little of the classic hefe character I'd expect. It's cloudy and vaguely yeasty, but it's much deeper hued and not as sharp or charactered as the classic HW. It's an OK beer, as long as you know what you're getting.

Cloudy orange. Slight notes of bananas and oranges. Pretty bland. I still have to meet a 'american wheat' which i find interresting.

Cloudy piss-yellow color with a medium head. Bizzare aroma, like the wheat is laced with something. Taste is kind of off. The wheat just doesn’t taste like it should in a hefe.

(Draught) Custard coloured body and a thin, white head without carbonation. Nose is mildly lemon. Flavour is lemony without the hefe banana taste. Quaffable yet one-dimensional.

Draught at The Chancellor’s Hotel, SF Hazy golden with a small, white head. Loads of lactic acid in this one; to old cask I’d say; the waiter didn’t agree... The buttermilky acidness is overtaking everything else. Some light spiciness to be found, but overall very thin.
