Commercial Description:
The standard by which all other wheat beers are judged. Our deliciously deranged American-Style Hefeweizen is an award winning take on this Bavarian classic. This refreshingly unfiltered wheat ale delivers a distinctively smooth flavor worth sharing with friends.

The aroma is light with just a bit of a wheat smell and maybe some grassy hops. The appearance is quite clear gold if undisturbed in the bottle or quite cloudy if mixed. The flavor is like the aroma being rather nondescript. The palate is typical for the style. Overall a non-offensive, forgettable, and drinkable wheat beer.

Re-rate 12/20/02: A “Chill Hazed” orange color on the pour with a decent sized head and nice lace to cover the glass. Yeasty hints in the nose, citrus fresh and lightly sweet, the start malt mostly with a middling top. Finish nicely carbonated and a fair to middling hop presence with the appropriately dry lingering aftertaste. Nice beer, not a great beer, but drinkable in its own right.

A quality doughy aroma with fruit. Good label, a good slug of sediment. Mildly tart, nicely hopped, lots of fruit. Good mouth, but the tartness starts to cling. This was a good hefe.

Draught at Farley’s Food, Fun & Pub, Roswell, New Mexico.
Hazy orange beer with a fine white head. Mild wheaty and citrusy aroma and flavor. Fresh but not the most interesting.

On tap at Capital Ale House - Innsbrook. Cloudy orange body with a thick creamy white head. Light wheat and banana aroma. Light banana and clove flavor on a wheat background. Unmemorable

On tap, Marriott Hotel Bar, San Francisco. Dark yellow, small white head. Faint lemon aroma. Bland wheat taste, some lemon. Refreshing. Medium mouthfeel. Nothing bad, just bland.

Bottle pours a hazy light golden, small milkish white head, with ample carbonation.   Wheaty malt on the nose, as well as a slight over-ripe banana.   Up front I get a nice wheat malt flavor, real smooth mouthfeel, with a slight citrus note.   Finishes with a good chewy wheat malt flavor.   Very basic, light & refreshing, fairly good, great body & mouthfeel.   Not one of the best, but one of my local favorites as far as American Wheats go.

Bottle. Aroma is of clove spice and malt. Body is hazy gold with good white head. Flavor has a spice dominance that makes it hard for the banana to come through like most. Interesting but there are better hefe’s out there.
