Commercial Description:
The standard by which all other wheat beers are judged. Our deliciously deranged American-Style Hefeweizen is an award winning take on this Bavarian classic. This refreshingly unfiltered wheat ale delivers a distinctively smooth flavor worth sharing with friends.

Sample at GABF 2009. Pours a hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of honey, banana, clove, light spice, caramel, some hints of light citrus. Flavor is about the same. Light to medium body with a pleasing floral finish.

Shaker pint draft, at the Seattle taproom at SEATAC. Pour is cloudy orange golden with a smallish white head. Served with a lemon I plucked off, but lemon citrus is still the primary aroma. After giving it a few minutes to clear, some very faint citric wheat comes across. Taste is a lot more of the citric, slight earthy wheat, followed by bright citrus. Also get some floral in the back. Palate is nice and full, yet light with active carbonation. Nice drinkable unfiltered wheat beer.

The colour of pink grapefruit juice; so hazy you’ll never see through it (but understandable since it is unfiltered). The nose is clean but there is little aroma to ponder. The mouthfeel is nice but the flavor is uninspiring. This beer wuld be desirable as a thirst quencher on a hot day...not my favorite style of beer; it is what it is!

12 oz. Bottle…Pours cloudy amber with a frothy white head…that last a moderate period of time. Lemon and citrus aromas penetrate deep within the nostrils. The swallow is lively (with carbonation)...the flavor is a little dull for my hefe taste buds.

Poors cloudy yellow with bubbles. Needs more head, thin, borring, white head.Refreashing and lite.A little sweet a little lemon.Over all good beer could be much biggger.

Pours orangish yellow with a fluffy white head. But the head dissipates a little too quickly, and the yeast comes out in unattractive clumps. Aroma is nice. Kind of lemon and banana. Flavor is a bit one-note. But it quenches the thirst.

Aroma fairly generic. Smells like beer. Color is a little non-distinct but with a nice murkiness and OK head. Flavor is pretty smooth, but not very full-bodied. For a wheat beer, not bad.

12 oz bottle. Smells of wheat, lemons, Granny Smith apples. Disappointing head and below average hazy hue when compared to its German counterparts. Flavor is very American rather than German. Tastes of wheat--like it should--and lemons (I did not put a lemon wedge in it, ya wankers). This beer was much better straight out of the bottle. I’ve come across a number of beers now which seem to come across better from the bottle rather than poured into a glass. I disagree with the notion that beer is always better from a glass. I drank this last night straight out of the bottle and remember being impressed. Now, with the same beer in my glass, it’s just mediocre. I thought the same thing with Blue Moon Honey Moon. I could actually taste the unique flavors--honey and wheat--much more out of the bottle than the glass.
