Bottle from State Line. Turbid deep gold pour with 1-finger eggshell head. Aroma is pale malt, hopcitrus, tangerine, and spicy peppery notes. Tastes bready pale malty, with hopcitrus, some florals, and some clovey peppery notes. Good, but not great.

A surprisingly solid beer from these perennial underachievers. Cloudy yellow pour with a mountainous shite head. Bananas, wheat, cereal, and a small bit of clove. Smooth mouthfeel. Nice balance of wheat and yeast esters. More on the wheat side than the sweet, bubblegum, German side. Still, a very good hefe.

22 oz bomber. Murky yellow color with a thin head. decent smell of tart grainy wheat malts, banana sweetness, and lightly alcoholic. Very creamy mouthfeel here with a big malt and yeasty taste. A very drinkable 7.5% hefe. 10/23/07

Nice tight white head. EXTREMELEY cloudy with lots of Mit Hefe. Nice yeast flavor, but not necessarily "imperial-like" in alcohol flavor. Even a little sweetness to it.

Okay, I love Brooklyner/Schneider Hopfenweiss. With the exception of Weizenbocks and a few Hellerbocks, I really don’t think wheat beers should be this warm. The nose has a dried bubblegum, candied corn, and dried apricots. The palate begins spicey in a Czech accent, the apricots lean towards preserves. A thump on the ear in the alcohol department speaks out just as the hops and wheat malt wheat calm it down back to its seat. Hoppy finish, a little warm on the abv. It is big, a little heavy (flat) and the beer just doesn’t have the fine carbonation that should provide a zesty mouth scrubbing sensation. Not bad, but not worthy of too much gas money.

Bottle. Pours out an orange clouded color with a thick white head on it. Smelled fruity and had some citrus flavors. Kind of hoppy smelling too for a hefe. Taste was pretty smooth and kind of refreshing, but a little bit too much on the alcohol side. Im not really digging these 7%+ hefes that I have had recently. Still a good effort and a decent twist on the style.

Cloudy yellow-orange in color. Rich banana bread in the nose that seems to fade to no aroma as the beer sits in the glass. The banana aroma is only slightly backed up in the flavor. A little yeast and citrus to finish.

Brewer’s Reserve 2007. 22oz bottle. Murky orange caramel with a one finger off-white head. This doesn’t smell like a hefe. Sweet malts, wheat, and maybe a hint of banana. Flavor is wheat with some alcohol notes, and a big wheaty finish. Minimal bitterness. Light carbonation with a fuller body than I’d have thought. Drinkable, but nothing special. An imperial American Wheat, maybe. I was originally going to disagree with kp in calling it a wheat wine, but he did say "light," and if I had to choose between wheat wine and hefe I’d choose wheat wine.
