bradlyc77 (100), Sebastopol, California, USA Jan 7, 2009 Pours a cola-like color with small tan head that fades quickly. Full bodied with lots of malt and a good amount of hops. Tastes of molasses, dark bread, currants, apricots. Some pine and citrus from the hops with a hint of leather in the finish. A good winter warmer with a good balance of rich malt and hops. BigBeer45 (519), Troy, Michigan, USA Jan 5, 2009 Pours a clear ruby with some effervescence, gave a one finger off-white head, aroma of caramel, dark fruit and a good amount malt sweetness, faint chocolate in the background, flavor of dark caramel, dark fruit, raisins and some dark bread, red wine in the background, starts with some molasses-brown sugar sweetness but finishes dry with some bitterness, also, some pepper and spice at the finish, has a more then medium mouth feel, an ok drink. jredmond (648), New Jersey, USA Jan 2, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours deep amber body with small head. The aroma sweet malt. The taste is similar. Nice 7% alcohol. GJF (288), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA Dec 30, 2008 I’m not a huge pyramid fan, but I quite enjoyed this. Solid malt backbone in flavor with a good touch of hop in a long, dry finish. Not overpowering, but a nice, balanced strong ale. mgoy (305), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA Dec 29, 2008 I am very confused as to all of the positive reviews of Pyramid Snow Cap Ale. Honestly, I thought it was horrible.
This is a very nicely colored ale with a deep mohogany color and some fruit notes. However, the flavor was bitter and very unenjoyable.
