Pours a cloudy golden amber with a large, clingy beige head that slowly fades. Taste is of caramel, malt, hops, grass and pine. Similar aroma. Has a pleasant bitter and dry finish. Easy to drink. The body is a little thin. Overall, a pleasant beer that is in line with a lot.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 22, 2009 Local QFC (Renton). Picked up at mix 12 pack deal of Pyramid. Very transparent copper color. Not much head on this thing at all, but a decent looking IPA. A sweet. almost fruity, malt flavor follow by a FAINT hop aroma. Can’t pick out the hops very well, but I know they are there. When tasting the beer the hops come out a bit more, but still they are difficult to determine. More of a bittering hop that lingers at the back of mouth, with the malts offering a sweet taste to front of my mouth. An interesting IPA with a weak hop profile. Fairly smooth beer. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Dec 19, 2009 This was purchased at Total Wine with other beverages for Ben’s annual oyster feast and Christmas party. The beer was stored in cooler packed with snow. Decemebr 18-19 10-14 inches fell in the Richmond area. The IPA had a small to disappearing head. Some lacing but this is neagtive . This ale with a nice head would be better. The hops and malts are well balanced. The medium body ale had modest citrus flavors. It is averge IPA not a special one. I do have 5 more bottles to continue a more in dept evaluation. The alcohol at 6.7% is in the range of the some of the best IPA. yemenmocha (421), Glendale, Arizona, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Dec 11, 2009 Pours a clear amber-yellow with thin white head that leaves nice lace.
Nose is surprisingly faint for an IPA, even in my large belgian tulip glass. A fair amount of citrus and pine but nothing out of the ordinary.
Palate is a little sharp, very citrusy, and has a slight grapefruit burn on the finish. Mediocre for a Pacific Northwest IPA.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 26, 2009 A very drinkable IPA. At 6.7 %, it is hard hitting and extremely hoppy. I would place it around 75 IBU’s. Pour is golden with a medium seized white head. Good lacing and aroma of hops, grains and citrus. First taste is hoppy and a little lemon fruit. Hops aftertaste. A pretty solid beer, but not the best IPA i have ever had. Sledutah (98), Utah, USA

Appearance: Light golden with some white head and little bit of lace.
Aroma: Citrus & grapefruit hops
Taste: Hops that are on the sour side.
This isn’t really a very good IPA, kinda disappointing for a Pyramid beer. phildorsey (43), Fort Lewis, Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Nov 19, 2009 24 oz. Bottle. Pours Golden and clear. Head is somewhat frothy...last longer than average. Taste is lively...w/hops and lemon notes. The aroma is faily weak for an IPA...but the taste is spot on. My favorite from the people at Pyramid Brewing. manuchampions (124), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Anyway...this beer isn’t a 1. It’s not perfection either but I’ve had many inferior IPA’s. The nose is a tad too malty for my liking with the hops seeming subdued. Pours a nice golden amber with decent head. Taste is abundantly hoppy, even slightly chewy in bitterness, with a modest malt backing. Finishes very pleasantly with a good, lingering hop bite. Very well made and, for the price, a relative bargain. However there are better IPA’s but this will certainly be high on my list when budget is tight. I have gotten bad batches of this at least four times, they have some serious quality control issues and it is not worth wasting your money.
