milljam (127), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Feb 10, 2008 Probably one of the best light beers I’ve had. Easy on the palate (which you would expect of a light beer). Nice light malt finish. Very drinkable....goes with most of the food served at the Quay. This is a beer I would want on a hot summer day. A great thirst quencher. jvmiller (288), Bel Air, Maryland, USA Nov 26, 2007 Frankely I thought this was good for a light beer. I mean, there was nothing special about it, not complex at all, but it was a nice easy beer that I didn’t have to think about. It wasn’t like a crappy light beer, but it had some nice malt aftertaste that I enjoyed. Good with the food. detroiter (957), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA Jan 27, 2007 From a growler... Pours a light yellow gold, very clear and somewhat effervescent. The head is white and about a quarter inch tall, reducing to just a ring in short order. Okay lacing. It had better head, head retention, and lacing at the pub. Malt in the aroma is sweet with a little bit of that Halloween candy corn in there.
The malt flavor is somewhat similar to the aroma, though the sweetness is more like fresh vanilla than sugary candy. There is a touch of grassy hops for balance and a little bit of taste in the finish. Mild carbonation from the growler (plastic cap ... grrr), it was much more lively on tap. Being a cream ale, of course it has a light body. Nice creamy texture.
muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Aug 16, 2006 5 oz draught sample at the brewpub, late July 2006. Quite cloudy when set down, it does clear up into a solid oily pale gold with little head or lace....mild grassy nose, touch of pale malt, a bit doughy....light flavor profile, on the sour side and perhaps a touch worty, medium body, low-to-moderate prickly carbonation. Clean, nothing terribly wrong, but very dull. Crockett (902), Steelback County, Ontario, Canada Aug 3, 2004 Pours deep clear gold with no head. No aroma to speak of. Creamy mouthfeel but I guess that is chalked up to the lower carbonation. Pretty sweet but has just enough hops to balance it out. Pine. Watery finish.
