milljam (127), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Feb 10, 2008 Nice nutty aroma. Flavor is slightly sweet, with a hint of nuttiness and malt. Finish is clean. Very drinkable...goes well with any of the food, particulaly the bread. jvmiller (291), Bel Air, Maryland, USA Nov 26, 2007 Pretty solid brew. Malty, not too watery. Slightly nutty. Sweet, but not watery-sweet. Very drinkable, one of their better brews. PetStain (12), Detroit, Michigan, USA Feb 15, 2007 Pint from the tap. Small, but lasting head. Very nutty aroma and fairly sweet. Smooth and creamy with a bitter finish. Could be a bit more full bodied, but overall, a nice brown. muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Aug 16, 2006 5 oz draught sample at the brewpub, late July 2006. Near-opaque chestnut with a lasting off-white head and fair lacing....hazelnuts, almonds, chocolate and caramel along with just a hint of buttery diacetyl in the surprisingly rich dessert-y aroma....body shows pleasant toffee character at first well supported by a creamy mouthfeel, but does get a touch sour/cidery towards the finish which is thinner than you’d hope for....far and a away the best beer from this pub, no classic but quite drinkable. daboskabouter (1469), Fergus, Ontario, Canada Nov 16, 2003 Dark red, light brownish head. Sweet malt, brown sugar, nutty - to the effect of hazlenut - chocolate and very light coffee in the nose. Smooth, with notes of chocolate. Lightly sweet with a slight hop bitterness towards the end that dries out. Very nice aroma and a body that's getting there.
