Kinz (1897), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Apr 20, 2006 Thanks to walter for dropping this off for me! Light copper, very effervescent, good, lasting head. Lightly sweet and bitter aroma, faint but pleasant. Somewhat honey sweet flavor with a nice balancing bitterness with a bit of a floral component. Unique, and not too bad. Refreshing in fact. walter (357), Staunton, Virginia, USA Mar 28, 2006 Growler. Bright gold color with white head. Nose of apples, pears, light malt, and an off-smelling candy-like sugar. Flavor is moderately crisp and clean light malt with mild sweet fruitiness, and again something very off-- a bubblegum/powdered sugar flavor that just doesn’t fit. Not sure where this "house flavor" is coming from-- I assume it’s the malt extract, but I’m an extract brewer and my beers don’t have that taste.... argo0 (6167), Washington DC, USA Feb 21, 2006 (12oz bottle) Medium off-white head atop a clear apple juice body. Aroma is moderately sweet, apple, some berry, flower, pear. Taste is medium sweet, grassy/herbal, some pear, light apple, flower -- more bitterness than normal for the style. Light-medium body with fair amount of crispness, light acidity.
