mullet (763), Melbourne, Australia Oct 3, 2003 I must admit I was scared that what would come out of the tap would be a light lager but I was relieved to find an English-style bitter. That said, this was a standard Aus micro bitter. Slightly hazy with reasonable head. Slightly malty and lightly bitter. A bit fruity and pretty uninspiring. Unfortunately they had out of the Old, a style which I think Aus micros do best (eg. Coonawarra Old, Holdfast Hotel's Dark, Fitzroy Porter etc.) Betty (221), Walgett, NSW, Australia May 7, 2003 Not as god as the old. A very forgettable "bitter" which gets its name, I think, more from the CUB bitters than from english stuff. Very plain beer, but a little more malty and yeasty than its commercial prototypes. Nesta13 (188), Australia Jun 15, 2002 Largely dissapointing... it’s nothing compared to a decent english-made english bitter. the only thing about it that even vaguely represents the style is a slight florally hoppiness. drinkable but nothing special. (NB: this is called ’Brewery Bitter’ these days) motelpogo (4111), Plzen, Czech Republic Oct 3, 2001 best sampled on-site which is just as well as that’s the only place you can get it
