Strong and pleasant malt vinegar aroma. A dark amber color and considerable carbonation for the style. Flavor does have sweetness, like fermenting fruit, as well as a malt vinegar acidity. Good like other Flemish sours from Verhaeghe.

Bottled at Delirium, Gothenburg. Deep red. Small and bubbly head. Rather sour with notes of vinegar, juniper-berries and raspberries. Sourish and rather fresh, but too sweet; sugary.

Bottle at Delirium Cafe, Göteborg. Amber color, offwhite head. Vinegar aroma, some juniper berries and raspberries. Somewhat vinous, Vinous, malty, sourish flavor, quite fresh but maybe a bit too sweet.

A Mes rate: 25cl bottle from La Porte Noire. Said 5.2% on my bottle. Lovely stuff. Like a slightly more alcoholic tasting Vichtenaar. All the same stuff really. An excellent balance between sour fruit and creamy malt. So very drinkable it feels like you could have a session on it. Think the balsamic vinegar would put an end to that pretty quick but whatever. It does that great Verhaeghe thing of bouncing around from sweet to sour to sweet to sour leaving your tastebuds dizzy but wanting more. When Flemish sours are good they are great. This is one of those. ACE!

25 cl. Dark brown with a moderate head. The aroma is sourish. The flavour is sweetish and nicely sour like a flemish sour should be, and it has notes of berries. Nice!!

Bottle. Beautiful red/brown body with a beige head. Aroma has a certain cellar character with well-matured sweet cherry, just delicious. Flavor delivers most of the expectations from the aroma. Very harmonic balance between sweet and sour. The flavor is dominated by cherry, but in a matured way.

Bottled. Clear, ruby-colored beer with a dense, creamy, beige head. Roasted aroma with some laquer, prunes, cherry-stone, cellar and sourness. Sourness, cherry, dried fruits, more sourness and a somewhat nice oxidiced note. Medium-bodied, with a fruity and sour finish. A lovely beer. (070119)
