robinvboyer (985), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Dec 21, 2007 bottle from mgermani, thanks!
really nice dark ruby, brownish color, small off white head. Aroma is full of bananas, bubblegum, and lots of yeastiness. Flavour is very well balanced between the yeasty belgian flavours, and the maltiness. Such a great dubbel, one of the better ones i’ve had. DuffMan (1935), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Dec 8, 2007 Pours a burnt-orange amber, moderate tan head. Big banana and bubblegum aroma. Banana, a little sweet toffee, pear and/or white grape juice. Quite sweet, a little syropy. mgermani (591), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Nov 11, 2007 Pours a cloudy brown-amber with a bit of lacing. Great spicy, fruity aroma - red apples - strong and sweet. What a lovely taste - Dark fruit, good dubbel malting, plenty of hops, and notes of alcohol. Creamy body and great carbonation. Possibly the best R&B beer ever! BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Nov 6, 2007 Ambery brown with lots of haze. Aroma is spicey and yeasty with some black pepper with some caramel flavour. Thin with some typical belgium yeasty and caramel flavours with some prune like fruit. Decent but a little thin and alcoholic on the finish. Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Oct 30, 2007 Cask, GCBF Hazy amber-brown. Estery nose (apricot), some phenols (bubblegum), hints of brown sugar. Sweet palate. Finish has hints of spice and alcohol. Ap 3 Ar 7 Fl 7 P 4 O 13 = 3.4
Bottle, from Brewery Creek Dull garnet colour with no head and large bubbles. Heavy bubblegum and light florals & raisins. Thinnish body for style. Vague phenols on the palate, some flat malts...this really didn’t translate to the bottle much. Ap 2 Ar 5 Fl 4 P 2 O 7 = 2.0
