Oakes (7047), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Nov 17, 2000 Updated: Jul 31, 2005Bright chestnut colour. Nutty aroma with chocolate malt undertones. Toasty, light body with some honey and hints of chocolate. Sits on the border between a mild and a brown ale. fiulijn (6110), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Aug 9, 2008 2008-07-30, draught at The Railway Club, Vancouver, 4-3-5-2-8=22
Brown color. Light aroma, not interesting, almost cardboard. Caramel flavor, no Cream here... Boring.

2008-07-16, draught at Steamworks (?), 5-3-5-2-10=25
Nice light brown color. Light aroma of Asian kitchen (?). It has just a plain favor, caramel and roasted malt, dry mouthfeel, dirty water? No interest. Bov (4780), Bienne, Switzerland Jun 16, 2006 clear dark reddish-amber colour; very little foam; slightly toasted, malty nose with flavours of licorice, caramel and vread; high carbonation and a medium malt body at best; moderately sweet; the finish is quite dry with some more malty/biscuity notes tiggmtl (4196), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Apr 4, 2007 Nutty and biscuity malt aroma with some dark malt apparent and some caramel. Clear, deep, chestnut brown coloured body is topped by a low, large bubbled, tan head that recedes rapidly to a partial cover with some sudsy lacing. Caramel malt is somewhat watery with some toastiness and some dark malt bitterness. Medium light body with moderate carbonation and a touch of astrindency notable in the finish. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle (BCLS at 8th & Cambie, Apr-07). JoeMcPhee (4061), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Apr 2, 2004 Deep orange-amber colour with a thick tan head that quickly falls back to a thin film. Rich malty smell with hints of fruit and oakiness. Flavour is also quite pleasant, slightly spicy malt with a faint woodsy hoppiness and a great creamy texture. Long lasting finish. I was pleasantly surprised by this brew.
