tupalev (2311), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 25, 2008 Bottle shared with Greg Clow, Hogtown Harry, Blankboy, and Jerc, courtesy of Blankboy. Dark orange, small white head. Faint hops, some herbal tea, hint of orange citrus in aroma. Taste - like herbal tea with some hops. Some malt, and the hops really kick in in the aftertaste. Standard UK style Pale.
HogTownHarry (3286), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Jul 8, 2008 Bottle (22oz). Shared by blankboy with GregClow, jerc and tupalev. Clear reddish-amber pour with an average diminishing off-white head. Light, dry aroma, vaguely citrus and grain, bitter, but a little stale. The taste was grainier and sweeter, light grain with a bit of lemon zest - pretty bleh. Watery body, stingingly carbonated, with a very quick dry, slightly papery finish. Pretty meh and bland - dry and weak. GregClow (2351), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 1, 2008 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, blankboy, tupalev & jerc - courtesy of blankboy. Clear dark amber with a small white head. Aroma of faint sweet malt, some mild tea-like hops - really not much going on there. Thin body. Flavour of mellow malt and moderate bittering hops. Nothing really wrong with this, but it’s ultimately pretty boring. blankboy (2627), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 24, 2008 My bottle (650ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, tupalev & jerc -- courtesy of Mirek. Pours a clear orange with red hues and an average size somewhat-lasting off-white head. Mild aroma of caramel malt, light hops, light fruit and not much else -- it’s so mild it’s hard to detect much. Flavour, also mild and a bit watery, of caramel malt and light hops along with a light bitter finish. Average bodied. Man, I’ve typed "light" a lot in this rating. It’s alright I guess, I can drink it, but it’s quite dull -- a Pale Ale can be much more then this. A somewhat generous score on my part I believe. DuffMan (1962), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jun 19, 2008 Slightly hazy amber, decent but short-lived head. Toffee and earthy, dried leaves hop aroma. Sweet toffee malt palate, medium mouthfeel, low hop bitterness. Decent enough.
