| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 22, 2009 My Bottom Line:
Well integrated licorice fruitiness pervades this almost sticky Imperial Stout, while raisins, alcohol heat and durable roasted malt bitterness make sure the tastebuds are never left to wonder about potential complexity.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the brown-edged blackness.
-This is in complete harmony with a Ciel de Charlevoix blue cheese!
-Minty hop resins accompany the roasted malts in the bitter finish.
-This venerable sipper is not your typical Imperial Stout, which I appreciate.

Aroma is chocolate, roasted malt, hops and tan with a little sweetness and liquorice.
The flavour has a oily texture and is quite powerful with notes of roasted malt, alcohol, chocolate, liquorice and hops, with an alcoholic and liquorice after taste.
A little to much alcohol but good. sfhodense (554), Odense NØ, Denmark
