Draught @ Ørsted Ølbar. Pitch black coloured. Small light brown head. Coffee, roast, sweetness, chocolate, herbs and spice in the aroma. Flavour of brown sugar, sweetness, roast coffee, plums and chocolate. Medium to full bodied. Nicely roasted sweetness in the end. Light alcoholtouch on lips and palate.

Well integrated licorice fruitiness pervades this almost sticky Imperial Stout, while raisins, alcohol heat and durable roasted malt bitterness make sure the tastebuds are never left to wonder about potential complexity.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the brown-edged blackness.
-This is in complete harmony with a Ciel de Charlevoix blue cheese!
-Minty hop resins accompany the roasted malts in the bitter finish.
-This venerable sipper is not your typical Imperial Stout, which I appreciate.

Nov 21, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown with a brown head. Smooth sweet, roasted aroma with hops in the background. Very nice. Notes of dried fruits as it warms. Sweet flavour with slight metallic, liquorice and chocolate notes. Full-bodied. Bitter and sweet finish with a good alcohol presence. Faint notes of liquorice and chocolate. Lingering grassy notes. Well-balanced. A quite nice beer. 21-11-09.

Pours pitch black with a almost non existing head.
Aroma is chocolate, roasted malt, hops and tan with a little sweetness and liquorice.
The flavour has a oily texture and is quite powerful with notes of roasted malt, alcohol, chocolate, liquorice and hops, with an alcoholic and liquorice after taste.
A little to much alcohol but good.

Sep 24, 2009 Pours black with a large brown head. Aroma is liquorish, roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Flavour is liquorish, roasted malt, coffee and chocolate and some alcohol. Very complex beer. I really like this one.

Sep 5, 2009 Superb imperial stout, my only complaint is such a small 鴺 ml) bottle. Thanks Svend. Pours thick black and the roast is full and rich. So is the taste.Much bitterness, delicious though. Drying aftertaste. A real treat.
