Ungstrup (11075), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 1, 2008 Bottled. A dark brown beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of chocolate and roasted malt, and so is the flavor, leading to a dry finish. omhper (10438), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 12, 2007 Bottled. Ruby/black, firm beige head. Lovely coffee aroma. Dryis, soft and earthy with mild coffee flavour and notes of tobacco. Velvetty finish with low bitterness. Pleasing and excellently crafted! Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 12, 2007 (Bottle 50 cl) Clear, reddish chestnut brown with a handsome, tall and dense beige head leaving a dense lacework. Very burned nose with lots of coffee and licorice. Medium body, a little low in carbonation with sweetish, hard roasted malt notes. Some bitterness in the finish. Very solid craftmanship. 310807 yespr (6259), Copenhagen O, Denmark Oct 16, 2007 50 cL bottle. Pours black with a huge chocolate brown head. Aroma is dark/hard roasted malt with a little note of liqourice. Mouthfeel is smooth and almost creamy both from oatmeal, wheat and the carbonation. Flavour starts soft roasted malty and the liqourice appears to give a more sharp note. This sharpness is taken over by the east kent goldings hops which provide a distinct bitterness into the finish. The liqourice returns far into the finish given the overall impression of a liqourice heavy beer. Very nice, but lacks some further smoothness to be thrilling. joergen (6257), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 12, 2007 Bottle.
