omhper (10731), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 12, 2007 Bottled. Ruby/black, firm beige head. Lovely coffee aroma. Dryis, soft and earthy with mild coffee flavour and notes of tobacco. Velvetty finish with low bitterness. Pleasing and excellently crafted! thewolf (3983), Kolding, Denmark Sep 24, 2007 Bottle, won from the brewer. Pours very dark brown, bordering on black. A medium, fluffy beige head rests atop it, leaving good laces. Has the look of a Guiness (poured in my Guiness pint glass, even), though the head is more brown. Aroma is great and powerful - lots of roasted malts, a little coffee and chocolate. Palate is exceptionally creamy, filling out my mouth immediatly. Flavour is mild, but nice. Sweet, roasted and with a nice dark chocolate finish, giving a dry bitterness. Very good brew and reminds me in quality to the Sam Smith Oatmeal. larsniclas (3034), Gothenburg, Sweden Nov 18, 2007 Bottled.
Black with a thick, beige head.
Slightly sourish with fine maltynees and fruitiness.
Soft, smooth and milky palate. Sweet malty with licorice, chcoclate and vanilla. Some dry cocoa-bitterness. TBone (5116), Pori, Finland Nov 3, 2007 Bottled (BB 02/2008)
Dark, almost opaque black color, nice creamy mocha head. Very chocolaty roasted aroma. Medium-bodied. Good solid stout, nice roasted malty with some licorice and some sweetness, a bit wheaty fruityness. Overall very balanced, I like especially malt profile - with decent amount of dark malts it makes this very enjoyable. yespr (6943), Copenhagen O, Denmark Oct 16, 2007 50 cL bottle. Pours black with a huge chocolate brown head. Aroma is dark/hard roasted malt with a little note of liqourice. Mouthfeel is smooth and almost creamy both from oatmeal, wheat and the carbonation. Flavour starts soft roasted malty and the liqourice appears to give a more sharp note. This sharpness is taken over by the east kent goldings hops which provide a distinct bitterness into the finish. The liqourice returns far into the finish given the overall impression of a liqourice heavy beer. Very nice, but lacks some further smoothness to be thrilling.
