MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England May 19, 2008 A Mes rate: Bottle during our Sunday night session. A not overly attractive murky / hazy golden brown with an excellent white head and lace. Bloody gorgeous aroma. Similar to the previous beer we had I really had to work at it (is my nose not working tonight?) but it really is adorable. Incredibly perfumey. Sim could dab this on her neck and I’d love it. Stunningly aromatic hoppage. Delicate sugar notes are beautiful and the very slight earthy malt in the background round it off nicely. The flavour is even better. Damn, what a beer this is. A lip smacking blend of the incredibly aromatic hops, stunning alcohol notes and some sweet, almost sugary malt. Almost treacle thick but it’s still awesome. Jesus, the sweet alcohol is about as good as I have experienced. Grassy, bitter and dry in the finish that just goes on and on. Incredible length and mind blowing balance. Not at all delicate or restrained, it’s a full on assault. The mouthfeel is pretty much spot on. A complete coating of the tongue that is pulled down by the carb when you swallow. Bloody amazing. What a beer. Our weasel would be all over this like a flannel. Huge thanks to Jan and Charlotte for lugging this over from DK for us. mjs (1445), Helsinki, Finland May 11, 2008 (Bottle at One Pint on 2008-04-21) Hazy amber. Plenty of hops in nose. Quite full palate. Lots of malts and hops in taste. Alchohol and sweetness. Salty liquorice. Miksu (2187), Jyväskylä, Finland Apr 24, 2008 0.5 l bottle. Hazy amber color with creamy head. Tropical fruits, lemon, flowery hops, dull dry hops and honeyish sweetness in the aroma. Bittersweet, flowery and lemony flavor with notes of mango, lemon and orange and some sharp alcohol. Too sweet, not even the strong bitterness balances the syrupy taste. Good tropical fruit character. Bragesnak (2223), Aarhus, Denmark Apr 22, 2008 Møde i DØ - Aarhus Syd. Feb 08.
Alcohol well hidden in a great hop bitterness and a balanced malt sweetness oh6gdx (8795), Vasa, Finland Apr 21, 2008 Bottled. Slightly hazy deep orange golden colour with mediumsized quite lasting white head. Aroma is bigtime floweryness along with some toffee and caramel. Flavour is flowery and fruity hops with hints of zest and some mild toffeeishness. Alcohol gives a nice warming feeling while drinking. A goodly done brew. Jukkabro (2981), Tampere, Finland Apr 20, 2008 Dark yellow-brown colored with hazy apearance. Little white head. Extremely rich IPA-aroma with flowery and caramelly, even soapy tone, hops still dominating. Medium to full bodied. Flavor is even richer: flowers and hops dominate, lemon also comes up. Surprisingly sweet start, which turns to mildly alcoholic and flowery, still mildly sweet and alcoholic aftertaste. Skinnyviking (4142), Copenhagen, Denmark Apr 18, 2008 Bottle. High and lasting white fluffy head. Hazy thick looking orange body. Powerful fruity aroma of oranges and apples with addition of a good deal of hops but no sign of the alcohol. Surprisingly mild and sweet and yet hoppy flavor with low carbonation and a long bitter aftertaste. cellar (483), Dublin, Ireland Apr 17, 2008 thx for another great tasting Kim, (Beljohansen)!!!
