Jan 15, 2003 Updated: Jul 3, 2007[rerate needed] Nice dark pour, minimal head (could be the waitress). Tastes of strong coffee, but unfortunately it feels far too gritty, like coffee grains. And at the bottom of my glass there in fact were small black grounds of *something*.

Feb 5, 2004 Nitro: Creamy tan head. Dark black, ruby edges. The aroma is mildly roasted with some berry notes along with some light milk chocolate. The flavor has a perfect balance of roasted malts to the touch of crisp hops. Finishes watery & boring though, too bad.

Dec 6, 2008 Draft at Raccoon Lodge. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty coffee and chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and coffee flavor with a sslightly thin mouthfeel. Has a roasted malty chocolate finish.

Jul 13, 2007 Sampled on tap at the brewery during ABA Beer Tour ’07. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that diminishes to a fine off-white ring. Aroma of light coffee, dark chocolate, some molasses and toasted nuts. Taste is medium to full bodied, no carbonation with some roasted malt flavors. Finish has a light and smooth bittersweet aftertaste then changes to light coffee flavor.

Jun 16, 2007 Very rich chocolate flavor at the start followed by a astringent coffee finish. This stout was a bit watery on the palate, but the flavors with rich and roasty with a good balance to it. I just wish it had a bit more body.

Jan 3, 2006 This is another beer that has theability to be so much more. The finish absolutely killed it for me, it was great right up until the finish, and then it just falls off, with no lingering aftertaste except for a bit of dry mouth from the roastiness.

A great dark black beer that pours like molasses and taste like honey. This had a great flavor and was so yummy to drink. I really enjoyed this brew. It is very hard to find a good Stout brewed with the right stuff. Good malts and lots of good character. I will drink this again for sure.

Jun 22, 2008 On tap at the bewpub. Pours opaque black with a creamy tan head. Medium body, minimal carbonation. Coffee and chocolate nose. Lightly sweet taste of chocolate, nuts, oatmeal. Soft finish.
