boFNjackson (1233), Portland, Oregon, USA Dec 3, 2008 There are three Raccoon Lodge Defrosters listed on Ratebeer, and the place I had it labeled it as an IPA, so I am posting it here. Tap at Baileys... Poured amber with a white head. Aroma was hoppy and grainy. Smooth palate and foamy mouth texture. Leafy, floral hops with herbal, earthy malt notes. Also some caramel sweetness for a subtle balance. A little bit of alcohol and hops in the finish. SuzyGreenberg (1318), Seattle, Washington, USA Nov 25, 2007 growler from brewpub - clear and ruby orange with slight white head; sugary aromas and malty going down; very little hops; capped with polyseal cap and one day old when opened, but was really flat by 2nd pint; the flatness made it seem like a peculiar beer and certainly not much of an a DIPA harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA Jan 4, 2006 A special treat indeed. This edition of the Defroster has more of a double IPA character to it than a scotch ale. The pours is also a bit more amberish then its predecessor. The aroma has a bit more hops and the alchohol is definitely more present.
