AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Jun 11, 2009 3L 2007 bottle shared by Ron with the folks at Uber May 2009, thanks again! Hazy amber/orange layered color with a fleeting white head. Nice wet wood barrel aromas with caramel and sour cherry. Lightly carbonated. Complex earthy, yeasty flavors with pale malts, tart lemon, bourbon, spicy caramel and some sherry oxidation. Very good. Angeloregon (2024), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 24, 2008 Thanks to Ron Gansberg for all of his generosity! Rich amber-bronze hue with a minuscule head. vinous, sour, Rodenbach-esque. Tangy, vegetal and fruity. Quite distinct and textured. The alcohol is well masked though it becomes more evident as the beer warms. Great beer! SuzyGreenberg (1318), Seattle, Washington, USA May 30, 2008 750 ml bottle - i think this is what we had at uber a few weeks back? reddish gold with slight haze; minor lacing from sinking white head; nose is just huge - sharp, spicy, slightly sweet and a touch of funk; drinks with a nice soft texture and touch of tartness; lots of fruit in both flavors and aromas; smooth, soft and creamy; just delish; no surprise, another hit from cascade after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA Oct 10, 2007 Magnum, courtesy HogFodder. Merci! Pours coppery amber wit very little head, if any. Strong sniffs of caramel, light foot, maybe horse blanket all over the nose. Powerful stuff. Sharp and pungent. Redolent, mouth-filling tang right off the bat with the attack; medium bodied and pleasantly (but not intensely) carbed. Big sour fruit and vegetation notes--the strawberries and the moss come back in full force on the mid-palate. Tight, tidy lemony finish. Wonderful stuff. acertain (249), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 10, 2007 Bottle courtesy of hogfodder. Pours a reddish amber with no head. Aroma is sour, but also balanced with malt. In the mouth, it goes more to the malt, with hints of apple and wood. What a wonderful beer!
