acrdz (4362), Boulder, Colorado, USA Aug 26, 2008 Draught at the brewery. Filtered rusty red colored body with a small near-white head. Nutty, chewy caramel malt base with some honey and caramel candy sweetness across the middle, and a bran and dog food note that develops across the back. Astringent and coarse texture, with some harsh burnt peanuts in the finish. Hop presence is nutty and bready up front, but gets consumed in the dog food bran malt flavor in the back. Forgettable. General_Gao (2568), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Nov 11, 2006 Draught at the brewpub. Clear orange-red color with off white head that laced the glass. Light fruity aroma (plum and fig) accented by a hint of toasted bread. Fruity flavor with malty caramel and toast notes. Reminded me a bit of a fresh-tasting Bass Ale. heemer77 (3771), Savannah, Missouri, USA Sep 6, 2006 This was a fairly solid amber ale. The body was a rusty colored dark red with a slightly off white head. The aroma was sweet caramel with some toast and peanuts. The taste was toasty with some caramel. There were also almonds in the smooth finish. I enjoyed this one. jhliesen (358), West Melbourne, Florida, USA May 30, 2006 Draft-4 oz. sampler--Wow, about the most average beer I’ve had in a long time. Solid malt aroma with a malty taste. The color was a dark red with a small white head. Sledge Jr (2720), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Feb 28, 2006 On tap at the brewpub during the 2006 Crescent Moon Beer Bus Trip. Reddish amber with a white head. Diacyl aroma. Mild hop content. Metallic quick finish. Boring beer with little that stands out.
