acrdz (4386), Boulder, Colorado, USA Aug 26, 2008 Draft at the brewery. Very pale yellow colored body with just the slightest haze possible. Flavor is strange vanilla syrup, stenchy and sour bread and cereal grains and some simple, sour and stale saltine crackers. Nose has some notes of burnt pepper and burnt almonds... the cream ale element is fairly easy to see, there’s some light milky notes, even coming off as cream soda, and if I had to say something nice about it, I’d say that vanilla is a good thing to put in a cream ale, since it actually works without being difficult. But overall there’s not much to get excited about. CanIHave4Beers (208), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Apr 29, 2008 Eh....
Tastes and smells like lightly fermented cream soda, almost no beer flavor whatsoever. Certinally not my thing. General_Gao (2579), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Nov 11, 2006 Draught at the brewpub. Clear golden color with thin white head that left a bit of lace on the glass. Cloying vanilla aroma and flavor that suppressed any malt or hop flavor that may have been there. Sweet on the tongue. Tasted a bit like cream soda. heemer77 (3782), Savannah, Missouri, USA Sep 6, 2006 On tap at the brew pub. The body was pale yellow with no head. The aroma was vanilla pudding with some light herbal notes. The taste was strong vanilla with some menthol and potatoes. This was a strange combination. jhliesen (358), West Melbourne, Florida, USA May 30, 2006 Draft-4 oz. sampler--The color was a thin, light yellow color. The vanilla aroma was all over you and smelled like a cream soda. Too bad I don’t like cream soda. The vanilla taste completely dominated everything with the taste and flavor. The closest way I could describe it is medicine that is flavored to get kids to take it, but only reminds kids that this is a fake taste and you really are drinking medicine. I felt like I should have taken this in a spoon.
