Commercial Description:
Rader Ambrée is the subtle aromatization of a beer brewed in the ancient-way, re-fermented in its bottle, with a distillate of grain which has undergone a prolonged ageing process in oak casks. The primary fermentation is made with the same selected grains for the mash tubbing and the distillate. The distillate, aged in oak casks, is then added to the mash tub just before the re-fermentation in the bottle.

33cL bottle, courtesy of argo0. Thanks, Aaron! Pours a hazy, brownish-yellow; off-white head with fine-bubbled lacing. Slightly tart, apple cider and doughy aroma. Sweet mouthfeel: overripe apples and raisins; a hint of oak and sharp tartness; just a bit rough along the way. Medium, apple and yeasty finish.

A strong beer that is a mixture of belgium jenever with good beer. Nice and very tastefull. Drunk it in Antwerp in the vagant who is specialized in jenevers, but have also some good beers.

Pours an effervescent copper with a large, frothy, creamy off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel and butterscotch with some bready yeasty balance. Body starts with nice fullness and sweet, caramely butterscotch flavor with a touch of earthy oak, raisins and light fruity esters. Pretty well balanced and hides the alcohol well.

Bottle: Pale brown, dirty, hues of caramel, sediment floats about, large pillowy white head, very sticky lacing.   Sweet candyish nose, soft pale fruit, bready, seems like this one could get really sticky.   Sweet bready start, almost chewy, pale apple/pear skin, some walnut and molasses.   Warming, but not hot for being 10.5%.   As it warms, it develops a little bit of an alcoholic kick.   Fairly nice body, soft mouthfeel.   Soft lingering spices after the finish.   Better than I had anticipated!

Savannah, Ga. - Habersham Beverage Warehouse - 11.2 oz bottle. Murky dark golden to light orange pour, soft silky white head that sticks around a while. Pleasant floral aroma with hints cotton candy and a brief whiff of alcohol. Sweet nutty flavor with some candied sugar notes, cookie dough and a touch of maple syrup. Nice, creamy mouthfeel, Just the right amount of carbonation. Very decent little Belgian - good nightcap.

Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Nice copper pour with an average size white head. Aroma of fruit and spices. The flavor is sweet, lots of fruit, and caramel.

Warm amber with a nice and lasting head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel/malt. The mouthfeel is full and the flavour is sweet, malty and citrussy and the maturing in the oak barrels is evident. The finish is spicy and I think it’s juniper I find...
