Commercial Description:
Rader Ambrée is the subtle aromatization of a beer brewed in the ancient-way, re-fermented in its bottle, with a distillate of grain which has undergone a prolonged ageing process in oak casks. The primary fermentation is made with the same selected grains for the mash tubbing and the distillate. The distillate, aged in oak casks, is then added to the mash tub just before the re-fermentation in the bottle.

From a 750 ml bottle. A new arrival at John’s Grocery in Iowa City. The body is medium gold with a slight haze. The long lasting head is large and white. The aroma has an earthy musk of some leather with some pancakes. There is also a bit of alcohol. The taste is sweet peaches with almonds in the strong booze. There is also a little bit of cinnamon spice in the finish. The body a little thick and syrupy.

Very fluffy, light and small head over uniform pale foxy beer. Very alcoholic nose, typically genever, bit of caramel, and some green herb. Very malty taste, apéritif nuts, marrons glacées; bit oxydized (BBd NOT exceeded by far); warm, sweet alcohol flavour. Further there’s a certain type of seeds’ flavour I cannot name. Alcoholburn, rather well-bodied. It’s flavourful enough, aromatic - but after al pretty raw. What the oxydizing is about???

Bottle (Utobeer): Amber in colour with a large off white head. Aroma has sweet caramel, spices, estery pepper and a strong green apple aroma. Flavour is similar, mild caramel-like malt flavours, strong green apples, spice and alcohol. A little overpowering and unpleasant. Unnessecarily alcoholic.

Aroma intenso di cereali e di malto, con note di coriandolo e di caramello. Gusto dolce, maltato, con un leggero rivestimento amaro e note speziate. Alcol un po’ troppo evidente

A hazy orange beer with a thick off-white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of coriander and caramel. The flavor is sweet alcoholic, combined with notes of malt, caramel, coriander, and over ripe fruit. It has a nice body.

(bottle) Hazy amber coloured hue with loads of floaties swimming around and a medium-sized frothy off-white head with lace. Sweet malty and fruity nose with a strong but not unpleasant (vinous) alcoholic note. Sweet flavour, full bodied, medium carbonated. Malty, nutty and fruity taste; sweet malty and (hazel)nutty finish with a well integrated alcoholic note.
