Commercial Description:
Rader Ambrée is the subtle aromatization of a beer brewed in the ancient-way, re-fermented in its bottle, with a distillate of grain which has undergone a prolonged ageing process in oak casks. The primary fermentation is made with the same selected grains for the mash tubbing and the distillate. The distillate, aged in oak casks, is then added to the mash tub just before the re-fermentation in the bottle.

Hazy amber hue, with a lot of floaties swirling around, with a fluffy white head, yeasty, fruity nose, with a toasty, grainy accent, with a bready dough note, some stewed apple fruitiness and honeyed pale malts, with some sweet effusive effluvia in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, toasted grainy malt character, a bready dough accent, with some fruity notes of ripe apples, a subtle vanilla spiciness, with a hint of honey, with some sweet caramelized malts, leading towards a fruity, malty warmth finish.

Pours a cloudy golden brown with a head that dissapates quickly. Really funky aroma, with lots of yeast and malts. Flavor is malty and woody. Pretty good beer for $6 a bottle at the bar. (RIver Street Ale House)

Alcohol is somewhat hidden and there is a nice golden yeasty flavor predominating things but an odd almost cider-like apple flavor underneath. $6 bottle at River Street Ale House, Pittston, PA.

Thanks to Joebrew for sharing. Nice orange color with faint head. Good barnyard funk nose. Faint hints of spice there as well. Lightly spiced body with a sweet finish.

Sampled at joebrew’s Sunday BBQ, pours a hazy golden amber brew with an average off-white head that quickly dissolves to a ring. Aroma of sweet bready malt, hard fruits with a bit of alcohol on top of any hop presence. Taste is medium bodied, well carbonated with a sweet bread flavor and plenty of alcohol. Finish is slighly metalic from the alcohol, spritzy and a slight dry gin aftertaste.

Shared at Joebrew’s BBQ; no clue who brought it. Dark amber color with a medium head. Spicy aroma and something that smells like alcohol left in an open bottle for a few days. Bitter honey taste and some slightly sour encrusted oak. Not horrible, but definitely different.

(Bottle) pours amber. Sweet, fruity and a bit milky aroma with some light wood tones. Tiny vanilla-ish. Also some dough, plums and fermented fruits. Yeasty flavour with some fruity, grapey and apple like tones. Some wood and tannins. Heavy sweet and light spicy. Doughy mouthfeel. Medium bodied.

Light amber beer with a white head. A unpleasent aroma that is difficult to describe. Sweetish flavor. Nicely balanced.
