Commercial Description:
Rader Ambrée is the subtle aromatization of a beer brewed in the ancient-way, re-fermented in its bottle, with a distillate of grain which has undergone a prolonged ageing process in oak casks. The primary fermentation is made with the same selected grains for the mash tubbing and the distillate. The distillate, aged in oak casks, is then added to the mash tub just before the re-fermentation in the bottle.

Light amber and hazy in colour with spritzy carbonation. Aromas of sweet malts, caramel, yeast, dried apricots, and booze. Full bodied, with more dried fruit, and peppery alcohol notes in the mouth. Moderately spice notes develop later, along with a hint of wood. Kind of run-of-the-mill for the style.

Darker amber coloured beer with medium white head. Yeasty hoppy aroma and fruity aroma with an alcoholic touch. Full palate bit sparkling and creamy. Finish is bitter and spciy ending more bitter near the end. Good one.

Bottled. Slightly murky brown colour. Medium, foamy head, which is quite lacey. Caramelly, malty aroma. No genever aroma, yet. Good. Tastes caramelly, sweet and malty and ends in a quite bitter finish. Juniper is hardly noticeable. Again, good! It´s really a nice ambree, but maybe a bit bland.

Alcohol is somewhat hidden and there is a nice golden yeasty flavor predominating things but an odd almost cider-like apple flavor underneath. $6 bottle at River Street Ale House, Pittston, PA.

Light hazy aber color with light colored head. Soft aroma’s of malts, buttercaramels, some fruits and vanilla pudding. Soft mouthfeel with touch of crème brullée, malts, buttertoffee, some dried apricot, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cognac. THe high alcohol is well integrated in this softtasting beer.

A very smooth and tasty amber ale--almost blonde in color and texture. Pours light golden and is cloudy with a somewhat creamy head. Very smooth with light fruity flavors of apricot and hints of banana.
