Commercial Description:
Rader Ambrée is the subtle aromatization of a beer brewed in the ancient-way, re-fermented in its bottle, with a distillate of grain which has undergone a prolonged ageing process in oak casks. The primary fermentation is made with the same selected grains for the mash tubbing and the distillate. The distillate, aged in oak casks, is then added to the mash tub just before the re-fermentation in the bottle.

Shared at Joebrew’s BBQ; no clue who brought it. Dark amber color with a medium head. Spicy aroma and something that smells like alcohol left in an open bottle for a few days. Bitter honey taste and some slightly sour encrusted oak. Not horrible, but definitely different.

(33cl bottle) Pours a massive, rocky, almond head and highly active, cloudy, pale yellow body. Nose of spiced citrus and alcohol. Initial spike of citrus leans into a smooth warming of oily malt. Very nice. Above average.

Deep orange, hazy, small head. Sweet soft palate. Very malty, very pleasant. This beer is so not 10.5%, so very pleasant to drink - a stealth beer that’s for sure. This is not just an ambree - it’s less sweet than a typical one, and has a woody bent to the generous malt. Very well balanced. Potent but very subtle, and understated. Danes and yanks please take note!

Bottle at Delirium Cafe, Göteborg. Amber color, offwhite head. Sourish, fruity and a bit bitter aroma. Malty flavor, toffee, burnt sugar, some bitterness and a little sourish.

On draught at The Delirium Café. Amber colour. Rich head. Gin nose, spitzy and alcoholic. Very clean flavour with a genever touch and no bitterness. Moderate sweetness, dryness is also moderate. Clean.

Had this at Le Bier Circus on 5-13-03. Nice golden blonde. Strong alcohol aroma along with malt. Taste expands on that with a stronger malt, alcohol, and slightly whisky-ish presence. Maybe peach as well. Supposedly this has gin added to it at some point and there is that dryness from gin in this beer, especially during the finish. Has a nice whitish head and decent carbonation.

Savannah, Ga. - Habersham Beverage Warehouse - 11.2 oz bottle. Murky dark golden to light orange pour, soft silky white head that sticks around a while. Pleasant floral aroma with hints cotton candy and a brief whiff of alcohol. Sweet nutty flavor with some candied sugar notes, cookie dough and a touch of maple syrup. Nice, creamy mouthfeel, Just the right amount of carbonation. Very decent little Belgian - good nightcap.
