Commercial Description:
Rader Ambrée is the subtle aromatization of a beer brewed in the ancient-way, re-fermented in its bottle, with a distillate of grain which has undergone a prolonged ageing process in oak casks. The primary fermentation is made with the same selected grains for the mash tubbing and the distillate. The distillate, aged in oak casks, is then added to the mash tub just before the re-fermentation in the bottle.

Candied Belgian aroma, light caramel and vanilla/alcohol vapors. Frothy head, good sturdy bottle. Initially, I got a sweet candied impression, but as the glass wore on, the boozy wood bitterness came through strongly. Medium body, clingy wood/herbal bitterness in the finish. Fair, but warming.

Draught at "Italia Beer Festival 2007" - Brescia.
Dense and abounded head, medium resistance. Light torbid dark orange color. Sweet and alcoholic aromas with notes of macerated grape and red yields. Alcoholic, round, warm and homogenous taste. Modest bitter and decided yeast notes on the end.

33 cl bottle, Winnipeg, MB, Canada. Cloudy orange/amber colour with a slight chalky tinge. Foamy head, Musty citrus aroma, balanced first sip, sweet and caramel apple-like. Alcohol creeps up, but does not overpower. Lingering sweet alcohol burn at the back of the throat on the finish with more toffee and caramel notes.
