Commercial Description:
This opaque black stout has a full-bodied mouthfeel. A. Strange Stout is boldly aggressive with a mixture of roasted and caramel flavors stemming from right UK malt. This drinkable, dark ale gets its name from our founders grandfather: Alexander Strange. 14.5°

On tap at the Ragtime brewpub. Pours darkness with brown edges and tan head. The aroma is burnt malts, a touch of molasses and a sense of biscuit. The taste is roasty, burnt malts, a bit of chocolate, smoke and black strap molasses. A light note of malt sweetness wells up to join the other notes as it slides into the finish. Cool and interesting brew. The touch of smokiness was a tasty surprise.

Opaque black. Thick tan head. Inky aroma is nice, clean, dry, welcoming with smooth coffee. Low carbonation. Really smooth. Bang-on mouthfeel. A bit thin in finish but the flavors are all there including pleasant asphalt, coffee, and a slight acidity, making this a good session stout.

On tap at the brewpub. Coffee and a smoky peatlike scent, some light fruitiness. Roasty malt and coffee with a hint of peat smoke. The best offering they had, IMO.

High concentration coffee, light smoked malt, chooclate and dark fruits. The body is full on black and holds a diminishing tan head. Thinnish fore with ample roast/dark fruit flavors and dark chocolate notes. Quite tasty and comes off much bigger than the 4.5% it is listed at.
