Commercial Description:
Brown in color with a medium body, Sweet Magnolia has a floral hop aroma created by Mt. Hood hops. A sweet, malty flavor is rendered by Crystal and Chocolate malts from the UK. Sweet Magnolia Brown won a gold medal in the 1998 Great American Beer Festival in Denver, CO. 12.5°. Editor’s note: Some of the beers at Ragtime are mandated by head office, but the brewpub has considerable independence. It is possible that in future some beers may be merged with corporate brews, but until we can determine with the brewmaster which these might be we will leave them all independent.

Draught, Ragtime Tavern
Golden-brown. Toasty-lightly nutty. A little bit thin but good balance overall. A fairly typical brown ale.

Billed as the winter seasonal from Ragtime Tavern in Atlantic Beach, FL. Nice warm reddish brown color. Good bready aroma. Not a lot of bread crust, more a simple dark bread aroma. Too sweet, especially in the finish. Becomes cloying. Finishes clean, though, and not bad.
