beerbill (1919), Laurel, New York, USA Nov 3, 2009 12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with blutt59. Pours a hazy amber with a moderate-large off-white head that lasted until mid-glass and left partial lace. Aroma of malt along with stale air. The flavor is malt with a bit of treacle and cardboard followed by some mild-moderate hops bitterness. Glad I tried it, but probably not something I would drink with any regularity. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Oct 30, 2009 Bottle ( 12oz ). Shared by garthicus with me and blankboy. Coppery pour with an average beige head. Slightly lactic grassy aroma, orange juice and mild roastiness - a bit funky (goldings!!). Taste is oily-bitter, grainy, with citrus and a little dry herbal bitterness - light, mildly astringent, nicely carbonated ... simple, unmemorable: clean though. garthicus (1216), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 28, 2009 Thanks to Blutt59. Appearance: Dark orange with a small off white head. Aroma: Grassy golding hops, not my favourite at all but none the less, malt and caramel. Flavour: Bitter with a nice amount of malt and spices and fruit. Not bad. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Oct 22, 2009 Brilliant copper kettle color with a frothy head. Spicy hop and pale malt aromas. Smooth medium body. Good toasted caramel malty sweet flavors with mild spicy hops. Nicely bitter finish. Fratto (670), Arlington, Texas, USA Sep 17, 2009 Bottle and tap at the brewery. Strangely dark for a pale ale, too dry. 2009 brew makes great improvements. drowland (1360), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Sep 12, 2009 12oz bottle courtesy of Cavie. I was hoping for more hops out of this one. It’s malty and bready with mild hops that taste a bit dirty. stefanje (937), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Jul 17, 2009 12 oz bottle courtesy of ericandersnavy. Pours a slightly cloudy copper-amber color with a small beige head. The aroma is bready with malts and some dust. The flavor is caramel, malts, biscuit and mildly citric hops. The mouthfeel is light and crisp. The finish is short and dry with an odd aftertaste. Overall: A very nice little pale ale. Thanks Eric.c graham515 (420), Houston, Texas, USA Jul 5, 2009 Pours reddish amber into the glass with a white head. Aroma is pure malt with a faint hint of hops. Caramel flavor with a bit of biscuit malt presence. Seems a bit out of character for the style, but isn’t all that bad.
