Commercial Description:
It's our very first beer - golden medium-bodied and brewed as a traditional Munich Helles style pale lager. It features a rounded maltiness without being too heavy. And like every proud Texan, it has a good head, is pleaseant but never overly sweet.

This beer poured with a golden brownish yellow color with a quickly, if not instantaneously diminishing white head. Carbonation looked nice enough. Light aroma of bread with some metallic, somewhat average. Full mouthfeel with quite a bit of carbonation, which compensates for it being on the watery side. Light on the flavor side, with a bit of hops aftertaste. Overall, I think that if it were a hot Summer’s day and this was in the fridge, I might reach for it, that is, if it were in someone else’s refrigerator. Once again, Texas, you leave me unimpressed; leave the beer making to the Midwest ;)

Why me?! This is awful. It smells like feet and a rusting metal garbage can. The appearance is almost funny - it looks like slightly yellow water. Taste is skunky almost - just not good. Damn, this was horrible.

Clear, very light yellow with a horrendously strong skunk smell, some tart, sweet malt and somewhat sharp sourness in the taste. Really poorly done, and reminiscent in some ways to their oktoberfest in terms of sourness. Tastes a bit better than smell, but not by much. This is a poorly made beer.

12oz bottle(10/4/07)-A hazy light golden body with a nice medium white head. Aroma of malt and sweetness with a taste of the same with some blandness. An OK beer.

Rahr’s Blonde lager is a great color, perfect golden yellow. It’s not translucent, so its a little cloudy. The beer pours mostly head that persists. The aroma is moderately sweet. The flavor is like a hefe sort of, with a hint of banana.

From 12 oz bottle- poured pale golden yellow, a decent one finger white head formed and lasted. Aroma of bread, very odd. Hits the mouth with a very sweet note, thin malt body, finish is very lacking. A decent drinking brew on a hot day, but too sweet for my tastes.

What little head was on it after the pour quickly went away. Beer is clear golden in color. Not much going on in the nose – maybe some biscuit. Mouthfeel is light and crisp, active carbonation. Flavor starts a bit sweet and finishes with some earthiness. Little or no hop flavor and a mild hop bitterness in the finish.

Nice offering from the local Rahr brewery. On tap: classy golden color... looks great in a glass and easy to drink. Good taste... not overpowering, so it’s great with a meal. 12 oz. bottle: pours pale gold into the galss with a substantial white head. Hoppier than I remember the draft version being, but still... a good beer to have with a meal.
