Cavie (1317), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Feb 4, 2009 Has a light presence of hops which makes it more drinkable. Some Rahr beers tend to be more watered down, and in this case it helps. Still maintains a bitter finish. redgold07 (308), Irving, Texas, USA May 22, 2008 I was really hoping this brewery would stay away from creating a pale lager. Named after the Fort Worth Cats minor league baseball team (of the American Association - an independent AA level league), it is cool and admirable that Rahr brewed something to promote the team. Evidently LaGrave field, where the Cats play, is really old and Babe Ruth played there once. Anyway... pours a clear, pale golden color with a thin white head. Aroma is pretty run-of-the-mill... slight malt and a bit of skunk. Flavor is a little skunky, but also bitter towards the end. Very smooth and easy to drink.
On tap at The Ginger Man in Fort Worth. Bhops (329), Dallas, Texas, USA May 11, 2008 on tap at brewery with mar. brewed for Fort Worth Cats minor league team. pale yellow color, not much head. faint mailty aroma but decent flavor. Malty with some hints of hops. Typical pale ale but not bad for this brewery. mar (1740), Rowlett, Texas, USA May 10, 2008 on tap at the brewery. pale yellow straw color with a ring of white fizz. malty smell with a tiny amount of hops in the background. mouthfeel is good and the malts or more prevalent than anything else.
