Thanks Cavie for sending. Pours a copper orange with a one finger foamy offwhite head. Nose is sweet, a little fruity, off characters, malty. Flavor is malt dominant at first and then I get some off characters, then more off characters. Contaminated? Didn’t finish this one.

Bottle: Dark amber color with very light head. Thse nose is sweet and malty with some up front cherry and raisin and some bready caramel notes in the tail. The flavor is balanced, nice malty body and chewy mouthfeel with some more fruits in the finish. A little sweet, but good drinking.

Tap at the Gingerman in Ft. Worth. Clear look, orange off white but nice head. The smell is malts, cereal, toasty, and malts. The taste is caramel, malts, grains, and some sweetness. Sort of weak.

Had it straight from the bottle around campfire with no glass in sight...I realy enjoyed this beer. Caramel and spiced fruits. I did pick up a slight sour finish but i think it worked. Not the best Oktoberfest but a darn good one.

On tap at the brewery and in a bottle. Tap is much better. Deep orange pour with a weak white head. Malts, caramel, and nuts. Not their greatest, but still pretty good.

I just read the review by BelgianBeerGal, and I cannot put it any better than she did. Strange sour taste that seems to linger throughout. I must say I’m a little disappointed in Rahr (the hometown team).

Bottle from Fort Worth. Everything seemed normal for a fest bier: appearance, aroma and flavour except for an odd sour taste at the very beginning. Nice caramel notes but they do not quite balance out the sour.
