Commercial Description:
Rahr's Red is a delicious, medium-bodied amber beer. As it crosses over your tongue, you'll notice a bit of caramel-like malt character. You'll also notice a slight hops bitterness-there to remind you that despite its subtle flavoring Rahr's Red is a Texas beer.

This beer is pretty good, it grows on you....Had it at the Rahr & Sons Brewery. Poured a clear dark red with off white head with ok retention. Has medium high carbonation. Nice malty tast with a hint of dark malt and good use of hop’s, and it has a very nice, light bitterness. Is a great session beer. Also, it appears to taste exactly the same as the Rahr’s Red....I do not see or taste the difference.

Had this beer on tap free at the brewery itself. Decient beer, nice red amber color, decient head from the tap. Nice malt flavor and good use of hops, has a nice little bitter kick at the end. Would buy.

Clear amber with a foamy white head. Mild smell of grainy, spicy malts. Smooth medium body. Mild bready malt taste followed by mildly bitter spicy finish. Hits the spot on a hot afternoon. 6806

June 2006 - It’s rare that I have a beer this horrible. Pour looked like iced tea, no head at all. Flavor was flat and like drinking a liquified dog in a cardboard box. I drank about 3 oz of it and it was all I could take and down the drain it went. Truly memorable...and not in a good way.

Red tinted light amber pour with a scant off-white creamy looking head. Aroma is malty, earthy, with a bit of sweet vanilla fudge. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Flavor starts with sweet maltiness, almost caramel like in the middle and a dry finish.

This beer poured a dark amber body with a large off-white head. I poured this beer at room temperature, which gave the beer maximum head retention. However, when I was pouring, I could see that the head was diminishing quickly. This beer had little to no aroma, which was surprising, given the temperature. The body of the beer was smooth, almost watery, which allowed the bitterness of the hops to come come out. Some sweetness, but it took a few sips to find it. This beer had little to no carbonation, which tells me that this was meant to be served ice cold. Perhaps if I chilled this beer or had it from tap, I might appreciate it more, as it stands, however, I really have reservations about the beer crafting ability of the great state of Texas...

Pours a deep amber into the glass, much like most of the beers I’ve tried so far from the brewery. Aroma is cereal grains. Taste is agreeable and malty, but nothing that will knock me over. This beer would be a good choice for a session beer, very smooth and crisp

Pours a great-looking ruby/amber color with a nice large white head. Goes down smooth with the taste of caramel. A little bitter. Has a good full malted aroma that hit me during the pour. 12 oz. bottle.

12oz bottle-A medium amber body with a decent white head that dissipates into a small covering over the beer. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, slight sweetness, and a little hops. Taste of malt, bitterness, slight tartness, and a caramel taste that lasts throughout the mouthful.
